18 horizontal wells drilled in Qatar
I am currently working offshore in the Al Shaheen Field for Maersk Oil Qatar. I have been invlolved in top-hole and lateral sections. Target formations are confidential.
104 laterals drilled in the United Arab Emirates
Sajaa Field (Sharjah) and Margham Field (Dubai) lateral wells are onshore United Arab Emirates, drilled with an underbalanced coiled tube drilling (CTD) rig. Laterals targeted the carbonate Thamama Group (Shuaiba, Kharaib, Lekhwair and Habshan Formations). The Sajaa Field is a complex thrust structure, the limits of which were defined by exploration CTD laterals. Laterals in the Margham Field were drilled on the steeply inclined limbs of an anticlinal structure exhibiting high-angle reverse faulting.
22 horizontal wells drilled in the Sultanate of Oman
Lekhwair Field wells are onshore Oman, drilled using conventional rotary rigs, mainly overbalanced with a few underbalanced. The build and horizontal sections were monitored / biosteered / geosteered. Casing points were picked. The lateral sections targeted the carbonate Thamama Group, Shuaiba Formation (and very occasionally the Kharaib Formation). Horizontal drilling records were established during the course of this work.

In addition to wellsite work, I have undertaken numerous single and multi-well research, proprietary and multi-client projects. These have been from stratigraphically and regionally diverse areas. Regions of study have included Kuwait, UAE, Yemen, Oman, Pakistan, Turkey, Libya, Egypt, Equitorial Guinea, Ireland, North Sea, East Coast USA, Canada and Brazil.
